Battlefield 1 – Improve European Console Servers and Introduce Crossplay.
Hello Battlefield community and EA team,
I'd like to raise a concern regarding the current multiplayer experience in Battlefield 1, particularly on Xbox and PlayStation in the European region.
Despite being released in 2016, Battlefield 1 remains an perfect game with a dedicated community. Unfortunately, finding matches on consoles has become difficult.
From my experience on Xbox, there are often only around three active European servers, which are either completely full or nearly empty. Meanwhile, the PC version appears to maintain a considerably larger player base and more active servers.
I'd like to propose a few improvements:
- Crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation: Combining the console player bases could significantly improve matchmaking and server activity.
- Improved server availability and matchmaking: Making it easier to find populated matches across different game modes and regions would greatly benefit remaining players.
- Consideration of PC crossplay: Optional crossplay with PC could further expand the player pool, provided appropriate input-balancing measures are implemented.
I understand that implementing these changes in an older game may present technical and financial challenges. However, Battlefield 1 still has a passionate community that would greatly appreciate continued support.
I'd also love to hear from other players: Are you experiencing similar matchmaking difficulties on Xbox or PlayStation? Would you support crossplay between consoles?
I hope EA will consider these suggestions and recognize the continued interest in Battlefield 1.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Hemin
