Battlefield 1 gives an error message "AMD driver 0.0.0. detected"

Have you tried this? This is specifically for AMD GPUs:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Clean-Uninstall-Utility.aspx

Then in device manager, select the default graphics adapter driver and check for updates. This will update the legacy driver for the GPU. 

Once done, install the latest AMD driver and try again.
