Battlefield 1 (PC) out of memory DX/video card memory issue

Hi)
My platform is PC, Steam-version.

I played a lot in BF1 almost a year and faced almost no technical issues. The game were located on external HDD, last month - external SSD (i have a laptop). The "C" system disk is almost full and sometimes bf1 play were interrupted by pop-up messages like "you running out of free space", then I clear some files like cache and stuff and continue comfort game. I also faced some connectivity issues but resovled them by checking files integrity.

Sometimes game crashed without error window and i found strange solution - clear EA app cash, run it as admin, play one campaign mission and voila - its working again!

Around two weeks ago this method havent worked so i re-install game from HDD to SSD and use above mentioned methods. But unfortunately these methods no longer helped since mid-week. I tried to run game again and again but for now i wasnt able even to start campaign without crash. Finally i get the error window and it stated that I have some sort of video memory problem (screen attached).

Side note: i get it around several week ago while playing bf1, but not the other games like bf4.

Would be gratefull for help)

  • Hello 72_TSIPSO,

Try updating your GPU drivers, additionally try turning off all background apps when trying to run the game.

  • Not a difficult problem there champ. The error message says it all.

You are running out of physical memory on your "LAPTOP". Either ram or video memory or hard drive space if your SSD is full. FYI, they don't have to be FULL before they start to cause problems.
