Battlefield 1942: Name Issues

Guys. Since I play BF1942 on Bootcamp, to type special characters (such as ¢) I installed the US International keyboard (from the control panel). When I try to type special characters for my name in BF, it never works. What do I do?

 

 

Also, if I try to copy and paste, it never works.

    The game is quite old and it simply might not support non-standard latin characters, this wasn't unusual back in that time.
