Battlefield 2 Black Screen Crash on Startup Windows 10
I have Battlefield 2 on windows 10, I really want to play Forgotten Hope 2 and project reality. However I can't even start the game normally. This is so frustrating because I had the same exact issue trying to play BF1942, Install the game and everything like that works fine. However when I go to play the game it starts up with a black screen as if it is loading then all of a sudden it just closes back to the desktop and with no error code as well. Happened on BF1942 and I couldn't figure out a solution and now its happening when I'm trying to play Battlefield 2. I've searched for hours on end and I just can't figure it out... I've seen people posting links to a solution on Battle Log but of course the links don't work as they have been shut down. If any one has any possible solutions please let me know,, Im on a kinda crappy HP Notebook 2016 but it can run Fallout NV on ultra and Day of infamy just fine as well as other modern games so I don't think its any system limitations. I'm at the end of the rope here, don't know what to do. Thanks.
Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 16299)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6100U CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz

the bf1942 main menu can only run on 800 x 600 resolution so you need have that resolution on your screen.
but when the game is running you can change to any screen resolution thats supported by your screen.
you see when you start a game and start loading a map blackscreen.exe run for a few seconds and change the game to resolution you set in the video settings.
the only thing i still can think of is to use the hdmi port on your laptop and plug in a monitor that support the screen resolutions you need
and this is the point were i run out of ideas maybe team simple tech forum can help you
