Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Issues Since 11/27 Patch - Choppy Gameplay / FPS Drops / Bad Hit Detection
A large (and growing daily) group of us have been contributing to a thread regarding Battlefield 3 online multiplayer issues that started when the 11/27/12 patch came out along with the Aftermath DLC over on the Battlelog Technical Support forum, and that thread just hit 850 posts but we haven't had a single response yet from DICE or EA mods and we're afraid nobody is seeing our requests for help or that we are being ignored. There have also been many other posts made about these issues on that forum but we have all tried to band together in the big thread so it will be more apparent how many of us there are. Many of us have contacted EA directly too online and on the phone and the general response we get is that a special team will be asked to handle this since it is affecting many users and that we will be contacted by email with an update, but none of us have heard anything back from EA support as of yet.
This is a link to that thread: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/en/forum/threadview/2832654348336830103/
PLEASE, we are begging you to take a look at that thread. It has many users in it from all platforms (PS3/XBOX/PC) and on both HDTVs and SDTVs as well as computer monitors that are all describing the same issues that started right after the patch came out ie. everything ran perfectly for us right up until the patch and Aftermath came out. I am a PS3 + HDTV user and I can swear that the game ran perfectly for me up until the day that the patch came out. The issues occur on all maps (even vanilla and older DLCs) in all modes. We feel FPS drops (and pc users have measured those drops) and a general sense of the game slowing down or bogging down and feeling like it is running in slightly slow motion. It almost feels like the hardware can't handle the software or the graphics or textures can't keep up with the action in the game. This is happening almost constantly while playing multiplayer online to the point where the game has truly become unplayable because it causes dizziness and headaches. Hit detection has also been very inaccurate for us since the patch came out.
Please check that thread out and it would *truly* make alot of people's day if you or one of your colleagues could reply in this thread (and I will take your response back to our thread) or better yet in that thread to give us a little hope that you guys are aware of this crippling issue and that you intend to try to find a fix for us. People are getting desparate and we don't want to believe that the game is going to be left in this state for much longer. We have done a fair bit of troubleshooting amongst ourselves in that thread already and hope that will help you guys out. I am a PS3 player with an HDTV but like I said, we have folks in that thread across all platforms, and more are joining every day.
Additionally I wanted to mention that we (even HDTV and monitor users) felt some relief when this was spotted: https://help.ea.com/article/battlefield-3-update-sdtv-issue since it seemed that it might describe the issue we are talking about in our thread, but that article has not been updated now for over two weeks.
PLEASE HELP! We would appreciate it so much! We all just want to get back to playing Battlefield 3 online and many of us (lots of paid Premium members included) haven't been able to enjoy Aftermath yet (or any other maps for that matter) since the patch caused these issues. Thanks so much for listening!!
