BF1 and other games Not Launching Require Log-in and Activation

Recently I reinstalled my games on my computer as I planned on playing a few games during the summer break. When I tried to launch my games form the EA app they greet me with a prompt to log in. It never logs in saying my email and password are invalid. When it does It says "we could not activate "the game" on this computer using the EA acount you provided. Is there anyway this can be solved. None of the online solutions helped.

    Hi @StealthWalker-A1,


    Could you please try the following steps and then repair the game on EA app:

    Delete EA License Files:

    • Make sure the EA app is closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Enable View Hidden Files and Folders
    • Delete all files in the "License" folder.

    Please clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
    • (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

  • Hey, I just tried your solution and it didn't work none of the games on my account open. They all show this screen and they do not launch.

    These are the Methods i've tried:

    1. Booting in safemode trying to launch the game
    2. I have deleted all games and Reinstalled Origin
    3. I have Cleared Cache

    4. I deleted Temporary Files

    5. I've Deleted License Files

    Is there anyting else you recommend?

    Hey, 

    I've noticed you mentioned that you've reinstalled Origin. Are you still using Origin or you meant EA app?

    In case you're still on Origin, please download EA app and try launching it from there: https://www.ea.com/ea-app#downloads

    If you're already using EA app, then I'd suggest trying to Clear Cache of your EA app and if the issue persists try a new Windows Admin account. 

    Clear EA app Cache:

    1. Select the three dashes in the far-left corner of the EA app.
    2. Scroll to Help.
    3. Click App recovery.
    4. Select Clear cache.

  • @EA_cuervo Hey I am using EA app. Bad habits after using Origin for years. I've cleared the cache it still doesn't work. I am going to uninstall everything using Revo uninstaller then do a clean install of everything.

    @StealthWalker-A1 Hey just to confirm, have you tried a new Windows Admin account? If not, please give that a go. You could also try a different internet connection if possible. If you have the option to use a hotspot on your phone temporarily then try to launch the game and see if that helps authenticate/activate the games.
  • @EA_cuervo I have factory reset my computer and still nothing at this point. It still doesn't work. I've practically tried all the options even here on the forum. I do thank you for your help. But I'm just frustrated at this point... The only 2 games from my Library that work are Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 2042. This has been a total waste of time and energy.

    I have just tried using my mobile phone hotspot and it hasnt been fixed. The most interesting part is that the 1st game launch after the full reinstall worked fine, while all the others after that do not.
