BF1 Sudden High Ping

Hi everyone. So as title says, I've got high ping out of nowere. Yesterday I played in the usual servers I use to play, and my ping was usually 30-50. Today, I opened the game, everything looking "normal", just some weird delay to load server list, but nothing too outstanding. Then, I entered a server that shows around 35 ping in the server list, but as long as I enter it, my ping just goes to 380 and doesn't go down. Is it some EA servers problem or is there something I can do?

Edit: As I was writing it, my ping just fixed itself but I'm still getting the package loss and latency variation icon, so I'm posting this anyway.

Edit2: Nvm, ping is going on 300 again, lol

  • Hello EmpressOfHeaven,

The issue appears to be related to your internet connection,  check the stability of your connection. Additionally, make sure you're joining servers that are geographically close to you—for example, if you're in Europe, connect to European servers.

    Hi danisoff

I'm joining servers that shows 30 ping in server list, I'm joining servers that I used to play and had no issue before. This issue started in May 4th, and before that day, everything was normal. Also, I didnt change any router setting or anything related to internet from day 3th to 4th, this started happening out of nowhere. I can't see why that would be a problem from my network specifically. I had other players friend of mine, from same country (Brasil) that had some issues related to seeing everyone with rank 0 when joining server, I dont know if these are related.

Hi, I did the speed test thing that measures packet loss, it says 0% loss, am I seeing it right or did I miss any info?
Also, I will do the traceroute guide when I get some time to, and I will post it here.
    The Speedtest screenshots:

That's good you have no packet loss to the speed test server. The traceroute will check for packet loss to the game server.

Heyy, so today I tried some servers and ping seems normal again, but I did the traceroute tutorial anyway:

Does it look like EA problem? Oh, also, my BF1 is through Steam, and I made Steam check the game files, and it found some "errors" and then redownloaded the files that had error. Maybe that could have been the solution?

The traceroute to the game server looks good! I don't see any packet loss or high ping. It looks like you're connected to a Battlefield 1 game server in Brazil.

If you have issues in the future you can run another traceroute to the game server.

Right, at least I know how to traceroute now, thanks to you!

I will keep this thread open with no solution for this week, right? Just in case this issue happens again, so I can just send it in here. If this doesn't happen again, I will just mark my previous answer as a solution.
