BF1942 NOT STARTING

WHY doesnt BATTLEFIELD 1942 work with windows 10 It worked when i had windows 7 everytime i try start it i just hear a pling but no boot up and it acts as if its about to start but no loading screens or anything the screen just blinks and goes back to desktop PLEASE HELP me EA i really want to play this classic again

1 you need the gamespy patch

what version of bf1942 do you have cd rom or origin ?

thanks it worked and i didnt even have to disable win defender for Direct play! and i noticed the online worked again is it community hosted now or has EA allowed us to make it online?

nice anyways i did encounter a bug now it doesnt let me join singleplayer or online without freezing on loadingscreen basicly when it sends me to loadingscreen it either sends me to a frozen main menu or i end up in desktop and when i do that i tryed to click on the game window but it doesnt let me stay in it the first error is what happens most tho

make sure compatibility mode windows xp sp3 is set on administrator
i have not run across a bug like this ☹️

i checked and it was already in win XP compatablity mode and i will run a test now with all permissions added in administration mode
i tested it and even with the patch installed INSTANT ACTION for singleplayer STILL doesnt work i doubt its because of WIN defender on cause ive given this game every perimission i know of when i hit start it freezes in that menu and when i ran it without patch as far as i know it sent me to desktop and then after a few seconds of trying to click on the window the computer said i had to close the program

i had brainwave today i remember that screen overlays can make for weird bugs in bf1942

Hi, I've tried everything, on this thread and a few others. For me, it makes absolutely no difference. I recently upgraded my PC, now I have a Ryzen 2600 and RX 480 and new HDDs SSD... BF1942 worked before but now it just loads a black loading screen and a small bar appears on the upper left corner. Is there anything else I could try? I REALLY WANT TO PLAY BF1942.
