how can i play battlefield 4 on xbox live child account

i already purchase 2 xbox live gold memberships for my 2 children, but have now been informed by xbox support that because their accounts are children's ones I can not play battlefield 4 and I can not change the settings either. Apparently this is something EA have set up due to adult content. I can not believe I am expected to shell out again for yet another gold membership just to be able to play a game when the kids are in bed. Or as adivsed this morning, to wait until the child account turns into an adult one!!!!! REALLY!

Does anyone know if there is a way I can play this game, or do I take it back to the shop and boycott EA games in the future?

    If you have an xbox one you would be able to "gold share" meaning have multiple accounts on xbox only paying for one so if you had an xbox one you could make a whole new account over the age of 18 so you would be able to play battlefield 4 that would be the only answer to play online on the xbox one. If you have the 360 then you would buy a whole new membership

    We had the same problem. Very disappointed we will be taking the game back I cannot believe they have done this. I thought that was why I linked my account with my sons so I was able to authorise him to play if I see fit. Next time I will be asking before
