How to upgrade vanilla battlefield 3 to premium on ps3
Recently I bought the standard ps3 version of Battlefield 3, and have been enjoying it so much that I wondered if it was possible to upgrade to premium without having to buy the full game again for premium off the playstation store, because that costs 60 quid, which is so expensive seeing as I already spent quite a bit of money for the original game.
Edit: When I go to upgrade via battlelog, it offers an upgrade for 29.99 dollars, but then it just takes me through another page which then sends me to the playstation store and the full game in premium for 60 pounds, which is about 90 dollars!!
Hope this makes sense,
Thanks,

Yes your soldier progress will be unaffected and you will maintain all of your progress, unlocks, assignments, awards, etc. The premium disc is merely the vanilla disc with a new graphic with a piece of paper with the Premium code that allows you to download the expansions for free. You will redeem the premium code via the PSN like you do for normal PS3 game codes.
After you redeem your Premium code make sure that you restart BF3 and upon restarting at the main title screen you will receive a pop up stating you are now premium and you will have a Premium background. From the main title screen go to the BF3 in game store and download the DLC expansions covered by Premium via the Premium tab of the BF3 in game store then close and restart BF3. After the expansions download go to the games portion of the XMB and click on each expansion's bubble to install the game. After each expansion has been fully downloaded and installed restart BF3. At this point you will receive a series of pop ups stating that you now have each expansion. Now from the main menu go to multiplayer, open server browser and then open the server browser filter by clicking R3 and check all new maps and game modes or you won't find any games on the new expansions.
