Yea, I am another with the same problem. Downloaded to 2 different laptops and same problem. Both laptops running Win7-64bit Pro/Ult with
2Gig Video RAM, 4GIG System RAM - Heaps HDD space. BF3 runs works as does BFH.
Hope this can be resolved.
thanks

Let's say BF1942 is not really hungry when it comes to hardware.
Please download and install the latest version of Origin at www.origin.com/download and run Origin.exe as administrator. Get sure that Origin.exe is added to the exception list of your antivirus/firewall software.
Open your Origin client, go to "My Games" -> rightclick "BF1942" -> choose "Repair Install". Additionally, re-install BF1942 via Origin.

Hi Basti,
Yup tried your recommended steps however no luck. The result is still the same.
I hit the Play button and a dialog pops up saying 'Launching BF1942' then it closes and nothing more happens.
thanks

I've tried the same thing, and the same thing happens.

I don't know why I spent so much time trying to figure this out. Here's a list of the things I've seen suggested on the web, and which I've tried, but to no avail:
* compatibility mode change for bf42.exe.
* "run as administrator" mode for both origin.exe and bf42.exe
* resolution change to 800*600 for monitor
* check for updates and repair install options in origin for Battlefield 1942
* disabling windows firewall and internet security software
* creating exception in windows firewall for Origin
* reinstall Origin and Battlefield 1942
* system restart
Nothing seems to work.
Edit: To be explicit, when I either click the desktop icon or click the Play button in Origin, a window appears saying "Launching ... Battlefield 1942." The window disappears after a couple seconds and nothing happens.
