Playing my games on both my pc and laptop

Hi

I have a pc and play my games on there - fifa 17, BF1 etc. I will be getting a new laptop and would like to have my games be playable when i am travelling with my laptop.
Is this possible?

There will always only be one origin session active, i.e if im travelling i will be playing on the laptop and the origin on my desktop will not be in session.

Secondly if the above is possible, will i be able to continue my progress from my last checkpoint regardless which machine I played on? E.g if i comple level 1-4 of battlefield 1 on my desktop, will i be able to start from level 5 automatically when i sign into origin from my laptop?

Thanks

Yes you can and yes you will progress where you left of in the game. After installing Origin on your laptop you will find your library as normal, but games aren't downloaded yet. So, before you go travelling you can best do that at home already. Just install the game(s) you want to play on your trips. I am not totally sure since i have activated Login Verification a long time ago, but chances are that you will get a message by mail telling that a new machine, your new laptop, is trying to access your account. In that mail will be a short code for you to verify it's really you.

Just make sure that when you travel you have access to your e-mail address you used to create your Origin account. Also, on forehand it's easy to make sure you remember what your security question was. Better be as prepared as possible.

Have fun with your new laptop!

@yasin chhabuYep, it should work mostly without issues, and you may need to verify the new system. Online progress for games is generally saved to the multiplayer servers so you don't need to worry about lost progress.

Solo progress can often be kept current between games by using cloud storage, so if you want to play solo make sure that this is active.

Also, maybe it's not a problem for you, but if you want to save on download times/data usage you may want to check this article for transferring the game files to a new system.

    Thanks and good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I actuallybwantbto remaster my harddrive. Do i need tondo anybackups of the game data? And if so what directory would they generally be found?

I would like to reinstall the games and continue from the last checkpoint before i remaster the harddrive.

    Cheers

Hey, while the actual game files are in your Origin Games folder, local save data will be found in your My Documents folder. This will either have the a studio folder (Bioware for example) or just the game folder. Go in a level or two and you'll find the saves files, just make a backup of these.

For example you'll find the campaign saves for BF1 solo campaign at My Documents\Battlefield 1\settings. The main file is PROFSAVE, but there are some local backups too, as well as a local copy of your settings file.

MP progress is stored on our servers.

Cloud storage should also work as a way to preserve your saves, but it's worth having an extra backup too, sometimes cloud saves are corrupted or overwritten.

Please let us know if you need any more info.
