Otherwise you may just need to update your Punkbuster installation as follows:

Punkbuster version is out of date or not installed/kicked due to a communication error

There are a few common Punkbuster error messages that you can resolve with the process below. The error message might be that your “Punkbuster version is out of date or not installed” or that “Punkbuster kicked player [your name] (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe).”

1. Look for the Battlefield 4 folder on your computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
2. In that directory, find the folder called _Installer.
3. In _Installer, find and access the Punkbuster folder, then the redist folder.
4. Find and run pbsvc.exe to update or repair your Punkbuster installation.

If the above folders don’t exist in your installation:

1. Go to evenbalance.com, click the Download PBSetup button, and select the option “For All Windows Games."
2. Open pbsetup.zip and then run pbsetup.exe.
3. Accept the EULA and follow the prompts to update Punkbuster. When it has updated, click Add a Game.
4. In the drop-down menu, select Battlefield 4, then Add Game, and check for updates before launching BF4 again.
