Re: BF4 mouse problem

Now I spoke with three guys from the EA support (only the US support, because the german support has absolutely no concept). I will post this summary for you with all work arounds we try:

Description of the issue: After playing some weeks (incl. beta) without problems, I tried the Commander-Mode on Nov, 22nd. After that, my mouse buttons react, but moving the mouse (sliding the X and Y axis) shows no reaction. The pointing of the character moves slowly to heaven.

Previous workarounds:
-installing of any new drivers (graphic card, soundcard, mouse, systemdrivers)
-different mouse
-different USB-port
-Battlefield 4 repair-install
-complete deinstall and install (included the not acceptable download-rate by origin)

-extensive workaround:

  • launch the game
  • leave the game running and minimize the game or return to Windows by hitting the Window key on the keyboard.
  • open the task manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and clicking the Task Manager button.
  • In the Task Manager, click the tab labelled Processes.
  • right-click the process (.exe file) corresponding to the game.
  • Then click on the Set Affinity option to select it.
  • remove the check marks from all but the first two processors, so that only CPU 0 and CPU 1 are selected.
  • click OK.
  • Perform a clean boot and then play the game.

-clean boot:

  • Hold down the Windows key and press R. (This will open the Run dialogue.)
  • Type msconfig and press Enter.
  • In System Configuration, select the Services tab.
  • Check the Hide all Microsoft Services box and click the Disable all button.
  • Select the Startup tab.
  • Click the Disable All button, then click the Apply button.
  • Now restart your system and try to launch the game.

-system restore

  • Open System Restore by clicking the Start button.
  • In the search box, type in System Restore and press ENTER or click Search.
  • in the list of results, click System Restore.
  • follow the steps in the wizard to choose a restore point and restore their computer.
  • choose the most recent restore point
  • Now restart your system and try to launch the game.

Nothing of this above will fix this bug, the game is still not playable.

The last contact with EA now asked me to post the issue in forums and he wants to pass the issue to a specialist team, that will contact me soon.

    News:
After a new battlelog plugin was distributed (2.3.2.0), the issue was fixed. for two days. I could play normally, the mouse was working as it should. Since today the problem came back, exactly as it was (see above).

In the meantime I tried a different mouse product with different drivers and tried another browser (Firefox and Internet Explorer). But it doesn't matter.

    EA didn't contact me.
