Up to date, more than capable computer is without explanation, struggling with BF4

Hi guys

Posting again, as the solution i was given didn't work ten minutes into gameplay.

First off specs for u to check: HP pavillion DV 7, intel i7 3610QM CPU @2.30GHz, Nvidia 650M GT, RAM; 8.00 GB (7.90 GB usable), 64 bit windows 7 OS.
OK, next up a short description, and yes i reiterate, everything is up-to-date. When i bought BF4 back in May, it struggled to play the game (much the same as it is now), despite having all the settings turned down as recomended by GEforce experience, i should also note that system explorer says that it consumes a lot of CPU as you would expect, yet the temperature of the computer barely raises unlike with my other high performance games. This continued for about a week and a half (or more, i'm not sure), then for some unidentified reason all of  these problems disappeared and i was able to turn the graphics up without a drop in performance and framerate. This bliss continued until about a couple of weeks ago when it became practically impossible to play because the framerate struggled ridiculously and performance was pathetic, i shall note again, while the game runs the computer temperature barely raises. I am at a complete loss here and desperately seek a solution. Any help would be great.

  • If the other solutions worked for 10 minutes, perhaps your graphics card is overheating and then your computer reverts back to the other graphics card when it does?

  • Ummm because i have checked to see, whilst the program is running. Plus my computer (it being a laptop), is not hot to the touch unlike with other games, even after running BF4 for an extended period of time. I would say it barely raises above mildly luke-warm. This i find rather peculiar.

    That's how.
