Hmm, interesting.

You sure that you have all the DLC's installed you tried to join maps from?

Cause if it also happens via quick match doesn't mean that it's something else, cause if quick match tries to send you into a match which is on a DLC map you don't own it'll probably also show the error.

So make sure all the DLC's are properly downloaded and installed.

You can even try to go via server browser and look for specific maps (base game, and different DLC maps) and try to join one by one. To see if all base maps work and certain DLC ones don't.

Maybe we figure out any pattern that makes it more clear what could be the case.

Yes, all the DLC’s are installed. One more thing, I had no trouble joining one of those maps on an empty server, but later I couldn’t join the same map when other players were inside, as if other players were the problem. 

I rarely use quickmatch to play, I just checked to try other way. The problem started when I tried to join one of my favorite servers (which didn’t have any kind of problem before). It’s been several days and it still says I’m losing connection with the session.

I’m starting to think the admins may have a configuration in the server to prevent non-US players. 

You're funny. They literally do nothing. They tell you that it's not their problem and it's not the responsibility and it's part of Sony area. I have made at least 10 attempts to solve issues related to servers and at the end of the day EA and Sony just point fingers at each other.  No one knows why this happens and it happens to almost everyone.

@Ilslothll well, as long as it's not really clear what causes the issue and things look fine on someones end, i totally understand that EA or either Sony tries to send you to the other side checking if the problem comes from their end.

Just sad for the gamer if nobody can help you. ☹️

It’s hard to believe the lack of attention for an excellent game like BF4. I know They are focused on BF 2042 but a lot of people came back to BF4 because of the hype. That should be reason enough to ensure servers are doing well. 

@FallenArcangel70 true, i love BF4 too. 🙌

Even tho, i don't have any issues connecting to server on my PS4 or either PS5.

One of my servers for PS4/PS5 is running a Metro DLC map 24/7.  We can try and test out your soldier profile there if you like?

Regarding your remark on what other server admins might do, there is no way in BF4 to region-lock a server to block players from other regions.  Error 1 is though typically the same, as if you have been banned on a server.

Or if the server is in an error state due to a bug that EA introduced this last winter and never fixed.  So the server blocks you from joining it, and you get that same error message despite you are not banned on the server.  The server will allow you to join again if the server is fully crashing and/or being reset...

Perfect example, all servers in North America went down for an hour for no reason. Do you hear Sony or EA say anything? Nope.

I've been having the same problem on PS4 for weeks, even moved it from using port forwarding into a dmz, and using an old utility to find fastest dns servers with manual setup and it only occasionally works.  both the ps4 and bf4 test utilities report back everything is fine, speed, ping, packet loss, yet almost always get this message, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, one day i can connect to a server just fine other days i cant....
