Assigned a random owned account for BF5 Steam version?

I downloaded BF5 on steam, was given a generic username (BreadIsTooSlime) I tried to link my steam account to EA so I can change the username and It kept trying to send an email to a random email add...

I downloaded BF5 on Steam, and was given a generic username (Breadistooslime) which is a weird username IMO.

I dont know the account name or anything to be able to change this in EA or if I even CAN change it, since there is no option in the game itself.

Need help with changing my In-Game name.

    Hi @CIA-Operator0 

    You could check your EA Account to see of the name appears there and can be changed:

    1. Go to your EA Account and Billing Settings.
    2. Click on the About Me tab. 
    3. Click Edit next to Basic Information to update your EA ID, First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth. 
    4. Type in the code you get sent to confirm your identity.

    I suspect you'll need to change your Steam account details though, as the name you mention doesn't seem to be the EA one you're using here.
