Battlefield 5 fps drops

Hi, I have some fps drops for no reason to be honest. I have the game's settings low and still I have drop fps, windows 11 fully updated, my graphics card also updated. While I run the game to 120/150 fps every 5 seconds entering a new house or just moving around fps drops to like 60-40 for no reason... Is anyone able to help me?

GPU: Radeon RX 5700xt

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x

RAM: 16 GB DDR4

Game run on SSD M2.

  • Hello @VanillaFlavor47,

It sounds like you're experiencing performance issues in your game despite having low settings and updated drivers. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the FPS drops.

    1. Check for Background Processes:

      • Make sure there are no unnecessary background applications running that could be consuming CPU or GPU resources. Close any programs that you don't need while gaming.
    2. Temperature and Cooling:

      • Monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU using software like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor. Overheating can cause throttling and performance drops. Ensure your PC is adequately cooled.
    3. Power Settings:

      • Set your power plan to "High Performance" in Windows power settings. This ensures that your CPU and GPU are running at maximum performance.
    4. Graphics Settings in Game:

      • Even if you have set the overall game settings to low, some specific options like shadows, anti-aliasing, or render distance can still impact performance significantly. Experiment with lowering these settings further.
    5. Update Graphics Drivers:

      • Ensure you have the latest graphics drivers installed from the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel). Sometimes Windows Update might not have the latest drivers.
    6. Game Optimization:

      • Some games have specific optimization guides or forums where users share optimal settings for different hardware configurations. Look for such guides for your game.
    7. Check for Game Patches:

      • Ensure your game is up to date with the latest patches and updates. Developers often release patches that address performance issues.
    8. Disable Fullscreen Optimization:

      • Right-click on the game's executable file, go to Properties, then Compatibility tab, and check "Disable fullscreen optimizations". This can sometimes improve performance.
    9. Hardware Bottlenecks:

      • Check if any specific component (CPU, GPU, RAM) is consistently hitting 100% usage during gameplay. This can indicate a hardware bottleneck that may require an upgrade.
    10. Windows Settings:

      • Disable Game Mode and Game Bar in Windows 11 settings if they are enabled. These features are designed to enhance gaming performance but can sometimes cause issues

  • @VanillaFlavor47 What DX version are you using ? Dx11 or 12. Future frames on or off. You use AMD - you need to turn off ULPS in registry - google that to see how - very important.
In adrenalin - you can make use of chil - limit min/max to same - set it to 120 for both. No vsync in game. Turn off amd enhancements and use in game settings.
    Do not overclock gpu.
Windows set game mode = on

I have the 6900 xt and I have had my share of problems. But now solved.
I have 32 gb and you only 16 - a little on the low side. Perhaps you should make use of ISLC (intelligent std. by list cleaner) helped me when I had 16 gb of memory.

So here you have some things to try !
  • Same problem here. Playing BF-V for years but the last couple of day not able to play anymore because of low FPS. Tried everything, even reinstalled Windows and tried win 11 too. I have newest drivers, NVIDIA-GeForce experience, tried low settings, disabled DX-12, etc. Nothing helps.

Had this before but after a day the problem was gone. Could this be the EE-server perhaps?

    My laptop system:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz

    NVIDIA RTX-2070 super

    16GB RAM

All other games I can play on ultra.

Been busy for 2 days now and i I would really appreciate some help.
