Guess it's because it's a fighter.

Its a fighter and it has nitro as spec
- @frantayps G6 has nitrous which is limited.
FB has saxaphone exhaust which is not limited
FB has no rear gunner, its only defense is speed. - @ElliotLH Why is a single engine fighter faster than twin engine Fighter/Bomber? do some research
- ElliotLH5 years agoHero+@NoMoreChillies There is no need to be combative. The Mosquito in BFV is not a fighter, its a fighter-bomber as you said, so would most likely have been made slower for gameplay and balance reasons.
- @ElliotLH sorry if i come across agressive, but those responses are dismissive. Please explain how G6 is faster, turns better, fly higher is balanced?

Because it is the game-designers choice.
The planes are designed to have equivalent roles to planes on the other team. Bf-109s are supposed to be roughly equal to Spitfires as interceptors, Stukas to Mosquitos as fighter-bombers, and Ju-88s to Blenheims as tactical bombers.
Why is the Mosquito slower than the Bf-109 despite the opposite being true in reality? Because Dice wanted extremely long air-vs-air engagements and had to give interceptors a speed boost to compensate. In turn, Bf-109s also have less damage reduction.
It's all about game balance. Because Dice designed the Mosquito to have effective air-to-ground capabilities, it would have rendered interceptors redundant if it was equally fast, maneuverable, and overall effective in air-to-air.
