BFV crashes when joining multiplayer match

Product: Battlefield V
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number nVidia Geforce RTX 2080
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest
Please select your region Europe
On which server did this happen? Any
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) anytime
Summarize your bug Whenever I enter a multiplayer game, battelfield crashes after 1-5 seconds. The event viewer entries look like this: Faulting application name: bfv.exe, version: 1.0.67.38148, time stamp: 0x5be4b75f Faulting module name: bfv.exe, version: 1.0.67.38148, time stamp: 0x5be4b75f Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000507de4d Faulting process id: 0x8dc Faulting application start time: 0x01d48331fadaf163 Faulting application path: E:\Origin\Games\Battlefield V\bfv.exe Faulting module path: E:\Origin\Games\Battlefield V\bfv.exe Report Id: ae43fbf2-9f7a-40d6-87db-e695a77538f5 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: What I've tried: * Play in Windows 8 compatibility mode, thereby disabling DX12 and Raytracing. * Disable fullscreen optimizations. * Any tweak for high DPI settings. Worth noting that I'm playing on an uncommon resolution (2560x1080@144Hz). Worth noting also that Windows 10 is a fresh install, an all drivers are up to date. (The only thing not up to date is the BIOS). War stories run without any issues (except the lag in areas wit hfoliage)
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? My money is on an issue with the resolution. I also suspected Raytracing, but disabling that didn't help
What happens when the bug occurs? Game crashes to desktop without error message; event viewer enty see above.
What should be happening instead? Game doesn't crash and I can play 🙂 ‌

  • Reinstalling and then immediately repairing it fixed it for me. Not sure why it needs to be repaired after a fresh install, might have to do with early access.

  • Similar. I usually got a couple of seconds audio, some video, then freeze and crash.

@ZosoDerGoldene I am having the same exact problem. It is through EA Desktop App however. Game is part of the Xbox Gamepass EA Play collection. I went through countless threads and discussions about, my related issue. Seems to only be affected in Multiplayer? I get in to a game sometimes, (weird). Other times, it will crash when it is trying to connect to server. If I am able to connect, sometimes I can play for several minutes. Or more! Usually when, it changes maps is when it will also crash as well. Goes straight to desktop. No error messages. Nothing.

I am at a complete loss of words. So glad I didn't buy this game but, would love to for PC if this crap could be resolved.
