Yeah for now, use as DX11 as a workaround or don't use that gun if you are playing with DX12 on.
The issue is still being tracked but no luck resolving the issue at this time.

Summarize your bug Since the Fall Update, whenever I aim down sight with the M3 Infrared, the client freezes and crashes. I've tried disabling the overlay, verifying game files, and updating my drivers. Prior to the update, this didn't happen.
