Not receiving company coins upon level-up

Hello, EA Forums!

I recently purchased Battlefield V as the definitive edition was on sale, and I'm a rather poor student who has long been looking forward to affording this by all accounts wonderful game.

Upon playing through Multiplayer, slowly griding through the ranks, I noticed that I do not receive any Company Coins for leveling up - only through challenges/daily missions. This is, of course, a major issue as the coins received upon level-up are meant to represent the bulk of Company Coins received. This naturally puts me at severe disadvantage, as I am unable to specialize my weapons/purchase skins at the pace intended.

Upon noticing this issue, I immediately contacted EA Support through the chat function, connecting with a Customer Service Representative named [REDACTED.] He was wonderful throughout, and attempted to solve my issue. However, due to limitations and guidelines, he was only able to provide me 1000 Company Coins - as a "gesture of goodwill," as he put it. I am owed 500 Coins/level up, I am level 15. IE, I am owed 6000 Company Coins. 1000 Company Coins down, I am now owed 5000 Company Coins.

As I still believed my issue had not yet been resolved, I asked [REDACTED] to direct me to a supervisor. This was not possible. I then asked him for an email/phone number to kick this up a notch. I received a phone number to EA Support.

Upon contacting EA Support, I was connected to a gentleman who, upon confirming my account, and hearing my issue, asked to put me on hold so that he might attempt to resolve it. I agreed.

After about five minutes, the call dropped. No call back. Unclear if the call center dropped the call.

I called again. I was again connected to a Customer Service Representative, albeit a more pleasant one. Upon hearing my issue, and confirming my email, and remarking on the amount of Company Coins being high enough that he had to discuss it with his team (5000CC,) he put me on mute on my request. (Since I got dropped while holding last time.)

After about five minutes, the call dropped. Great.

So I contacted EA Support a third time. This time being connected to a thoroughly unpleasant gentleman by the name of [REDACTED] who repeatedly raised his voice and attempted to talk over me while describing my issue.

When I finally managed to describe my issue, I was actually accused of LYING. Paraphrased: "You've only had the game since the 24th of February and I can clearly see you've received Company Coins - stop lying to me." Yes. Yes, I have received Company Coins. From challenges, and missions. As I clearly stated. This is an issue of the coins related to LEVEL-UPS.

In attempting to solve this problem, I was repeatedly told I was acting "condescending" despite trying to remain polite and professional - explaining the issue to the best of my abilities. This was difficult to do as the representative was honestly shockingly belligerent.

This treatment of a paying customer facing a technical issue and attempting to resolve it out of a love for your game, instead of just pursuing a refund is entirely unacceptable.

He was eventually able to grant me 1000 additional Company Coins. Putting me a "mere" 4000 Company Coins in the hole, with no guarantee that I will receive Company Coins upon further level-ups.

For the love of God, help me with this issue. I am at my wits end.

  • Hi @Aliliana I assume that you bought the Definitive Edition as this is a known problem with that version (it's mentioned in the BFV FAQ if you wanted to have a read: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-V/Battlefield-V-FAQ/m-p/10488137#M76558), where Company Coin isn't granted until after rank 21.

While you should start earning CC when ranking up after rank 21, until then the only ways of getting CC is through the Daily and Weekly missions, or by completing each difficulty level of the Combined Arms missions (only once though). I don't believe that the coins which have been missed are awarded retroactively but I may be wrong about that.
