Re: Fair Fight Banned and No Help from TOS Support

Good afternoon,

I was in the midst of playing BFV in Breakthrough (https://battlefieldtracker.com/bfv/gamereport/origin/1091416218287538176?handle=iTails) and suddenly I was Fair Fight banned with ban code #tY96ip in the middle of a match. Reading some threads on Reddit and some advice from a community manager/developer (https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldV/comments/akyejr/discussion_battlefield_v_chapter_2_lightning/efjm8mo/?context=2), I came to the conclusion that I needed to put in a case with EA Support to have TOS team view the case and determine if Fair Fight was in the right for banning or not. I've read that sometimes your account can be compromised which is the reason for the ban. So, I changed all of my passwords on my Origin account and my email to prevent them from being able to regain access to the account. However, when looking at the locations being logged in on my account, they're all in my general area. My girlfriend also has an account she's logged into and I'm wondering if maybe that has an effect?

The case number in question is: 46493012

Overnight, I got a response early in the morning saying that they reviewed the case and determined that I was cheating (???). Again, I appealed the decision, because I don't understand on what grounds they were banning me for outside of "cheating." They forwarded the case to EA Help (46493012) and again, same thing. No details, just a generic "You've been banned for breaking TOS for cheating."

So I appealed AGAIN.

They responded with:

"After thoroughly investigating your account and concern, we again found that we actioned your account correctly after it was found to have violated our User Agreement. We will also be unable to provide any details regarding our internal procedures." Then they closed the case.

If you look at my stats, there's no indication of cheating on the account. Kills Per Minute and other factors do not align with the ban reason, or lack thereof. The only other thing I can think of is that a background program or process false-positively triggered Fair Fight or a group of users mass reported.

Overall, what are the next steps I can take to appeal this permanent ban on my account? The only people that seem to know anything about this is EA TOS and EA Help, and they refuse to provide any details surrounding the case (which is stupid and probably isn't legal at this point, I would argue consumer protections). I don't want to be unfairly banned from a game I paid $60 for and spent time on, where support won't even really provide details on the case. If you look at my track record in any other Battlefield game I own on the account, I've been on the straight and narrow. I don't think it's very fair that a customer and player can be banned with no details regarding their own punishment aside from a generic email response template. Guilty before proven innocent at this point.

Edit: Another thing I should add is that my DNS routes through my Raspberry Pi 3 running PiHole to block ad domains. Could this also be a cause for Fair Fight to trigger a ban?

@iTails since this is a community driven (ie gamers helping gamers) forum nobody here can unban you and you'll have to continue dealing with the TOS team

@ragnarok013I talked with someone through DM's on Twitter @EAHelp and he explained the process to me. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

FYI for those who come across the same issue, just because a case says it's closed doesn't mean that it's -closed-, it just means its closed for further discussion until an internal team can conduct a deeper investigation.
