On top of the ongoing chat bug (for well over 3 weeks now, basically nobody can type/send messages), there’s a new major issue since the last 1–2 days: the servers are almost unplayable.
What’s happening:
This is not limited to one region — it affects both EU and Asian servers, and it happens on community servers as well as official DICE servers.
I’ve been enjoying playing Battlefield V for years. I really love the game’s mechanics, overall feel, and atmosphere. My issues started about a month and a half ago, and I hadn’t experienced any problems before that.
I was using a system with an i3-12100F and an RTX 4060. It was really frustrating, so at first I thought it might be a hardware issue. I tested all my components—including the CPU, GPU, SSD, and RAM—but everything checked out fine.
After that, I didn’t play the game for about 1–1.5 months because I was busy building a new system. However, the issue persisted even after I finished setting it up.
My current system is an i5-14600K with an RTX 5060, but when I launched the game, nothing had changed. The freezes I experienced on my old system were still there.
I really don’t understand—hasn’t a fix been released by now? As I mentioned, this doesn’t happen on every server. If the game freezes while loading the map, it will definitely freeze during the match as well. If it doesn’t freeze at the start, the game runs smoothly.
In my case, the FPS suddenly drops to 0, the menu freezes, and everything becomes unresponsive. Since the servers located in Germany are geographically closest to me, I usually play on those. I’m using the Steam version of the game.

DICE Please help us out here! The hitching is insane! 5090, 13900k , issue just started a couple months ago.
Game has a healthy enough player base in NA PC, so I think we deserve a few minutes of someone at EA / DICE help here.
2042 was a stinker, we get it. And 6 is close-but-no-cigar, but BFV has perfection of movement, mechanics, squad play, map design, only missing a logical team balancing solution which we will never get.
It deserves someone fixing this javelin incompatibility
I am also experiencing stuttering
Last couple days only one Conquest Server was without stuttering, it was Devastations 24h (BoB). Today I played on this server and after 2 games server was restart. After restart, this server has also stuttering.
After one month your investigations and hard work it is now much worse than before.
EA team, well done fellas.
The problem unfortunately persists.

I own almost every Battlefield title, except for the latest one. I skipped it because I simply didn't like it and I've completely lost my trust in the developers—I'm not willing to give them a single cent anymore.
I usually play BF5 daily, but since these issues started, I’ve just been logging in and out with the fading hope that 'maybe it'll work today.' I wanted to share an observation with my fellow players instead of EA, as I don’t believe they truly care about our experience.
I’ve noticed that it's much more likely—significantly so—to find a playable server without stuttering during the weekends compared to weekdays. This leads me to believe that EA is doing this intentionally.
I’ve even managed to quit smoking, so believe me, EA can’t push me that hard. Take care.
My pleasure! I'd love to record more examples but I've formatted my PC and unfortunately now I can't run the game for more than 5 minutes without it losing connection to the EA servers. :|
