Unbalanced matchmaking

In the game modes Breakthrough and Front Lines I've made the experience that in many matches (subjectively measured) there is an unbalanced number of rank 50 players in both teams. E.g. in one team 4 at the maximum, in the other team 8 or more. Because rank 50 players are more experienced, one team has an enormous advantage. Further, both teams are "transit" completely unchanged to a next match (if we ifgnore players wo leave a server after a match and people who enter a server). That means, if there is an unbalance between both teams, it is not only for one but for more matches in a row. Are there any plans to change the match making system in Battlefield V?

  • Player level is pretty much an indicator of time spent playing the game, not really skill, and 50 is actually pretty low when you think about it.

BF matches people by their skill level (or so they say) and doesn't take class, ego, and external forces inter consideration. It is pretty lame how teams won't shuffle after a match is over. but with the way assignments work in this game you would normally see yourself going back to the main menu anyway.

I'm sure they have received plenty of feedback about matchmaking (it's been a hot topic for years now) and are trying to internally test different ways they could make it better for us. Who knows, we might even see a change in the January patch.

  • I agree, there needs to be a more streamline way for teams to be mixed up based on if the previous match was a blowout or leave it the same if it was super close. The special assignments should be a smoother experience and not require a return to the main menu every time.

  • Yah I can definitely confirm extremely unbalanced teams.  I got the game about a month ago and I can easily say that 1% of the matches have been 'fair' in terms of skill/ability.  Usually all matches are a mind numbingly frustrating beatdown where you barely get a chance to fire your own weapon.

How the hell does it keep happening?

  • Yes, this is the number #1 issue in the game. I had to switch 6 times I could find an enjoyable game where one team is not getting completely obliterated.

Fix the goddamn matchmaking system DICE, how hard can it be???!

Man, if Call of Duty can do it, it cant be that hard.  I'm on game (server) #13 since yesterday, each one the other team has won with at least 400 points over the team I'm stuck on.  Just observing my team, I am always seeing people getting shot from behind at point blank with no reaction or realization.  Medics don't revive and focus fire or assisting a firefight are nonexistent.  I started to think that Dice is using BOTS to populate one side and by misfortune, you get assigned to that team.

This AM was assigned to a landslide team, this was equally as boring, it amounts to a race with 32 other people to slaughter them as they spawn essentially.  Stop production, stop arsing around and fix the goddamn foundational * - it is going to continue to damage adoption and player fealty - I know I am getting a serious hate on for this title.
