Hawai'i is the most incomplete team in EA College Football 25
Ok, I know my name indicates bias. But Hawai'i is just among a rotation of several teams that I use for a variety of modes, and no team I've seen has as many issues in the game or feels unfinished as the Rainbow Warriors.
I was hoping this latest Title Update would address what seems like the easiest fixes, but Hawai'i-related issues remain untouched and broken.
Just a few issues I've seen personally with Hawai'i, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's more:
- Using a generic stadium (most obvious one). Word on the street is that UH didn't submit visuals for the T.C. Ching Complex in time, but schools like Texas State and Oregon State just got their stadiums fixed in the last Title Update. Plus, it's just a 15,000 seat stadium, so it's not like there's as much to build.
- Rece Davis opens every home broadcast saying "Aiea, Hawaii." That's the site of the old Aloha Stadium and the team hasn't played there since 2020.
- There's a bug in Dynasty Mode that gives a "F" rating to Proximity To Home for every Hawaiian recruit when trying to recruit as Hawai'i. I've noticed across multiple dynasty mode files that HI consistently produces decent 4 and 5 star recruits, and it's impossible to recruit the local blue chips.
- Rankings logic seems very unfavorable against Hawai'i. Once took UH in Road To Glory to a 13-0 regular season and only finished 19th in the CFP rankings and a trip to the New Mexico Bowl, with a 6-6 Florida State team ranked one spot below (maybe they adjusted this one, but still don't know if it affects UH much).
- Can't even change sock colors from white.
Overall, Hawai'i doesn't feel like it has a true identity in this game and feels no different than a Team Builder created squad. The only difference is that they have a genuine roster, and I like to use their Run N Shoot playbook at other schools. Hoping UH brings back the ha'a this year or reintroduces throwbacks so they have something in this game.
