@Sgoforth5 yea, i don't think schools IRL are choosing candidates based on how often they're going to run smash concepts
which is why i think the 'apply for the job' idea works. you get offers as normal but then you can approach a school and see if there's a match

ok, here's my idea EA
every year, medical students graduate medical school and apply to residencies to train in their desired specialty. there are only so many spots for each residency and only so many residency programs, and a bunch of medical students wanting to work. how can you make it fair? enter the NRMP (National Residency Matching Program)
every potential resident ranks the programs with whom they've interviewed from top to bottom (some people have short lists, some have long). then, every program ranks the potential residents they've interviewed from top to bottom. and they hit the 'run match' button.... and spits out
what if you could select a few schools you want to be considered as coach and the system ranks the coaches based off levels and then the system spits out if you're accepted or not...
just an idea
