Kicked Off to Start Overtime and that counted as my possession

I went to overtime in the National Championship after kicking a field goal to tie it up with 0:00 left on the clock. Which brought me directly into overtime with no coin toss, just straight into a kickoff. Apparently the kickoff counted as my possession because Ohio State scored a touchdown which ended the game.
