Physical attributes that can’t be unlocked

Pasted from someone who did the work:

Some archetypes are a little funky at the moment and I’m hoping this post can bring attention to it so it can be fixed, below is a list of the archetypes that cannot progress an ability due to the inability to level up the corresponding attribute.

I assume like last year it is still possible for players to come out of high school with abilities they don’t meet the requirements for, but this is the only way outside of a position change (which is also currently broken/not functioning properly) that players could acquire these abilities as these archetypes.

QB: None, all archetypes have the means to upgrade their abilities

HB: None, all archetypes have the means to upgrade their abilities

FB: None, all archetypes have the means to upgrade their abilities

WR: Gritty Possession - Cannot acquire Outside Shield due to no RB Finesse, Second Level due to Impact Blocking, or Sure Hands due to Catch in Traffic

Gadget - Cannot acquire Dot due to no deep accuracy (or any accuracy actually) upgrade

Physical Route Runner - Cannot acquire Sure hands due to no Catch in Traffic, 50/50 due to no Spec Catch. Curiously the same archetype at Tight End can acquire all abilities

Speedsters, Contested Specialists, Route Artists, and Elusive Route Runners can acquire all their abilities

TE: Pure Blocker - Cannot acquire Second Level due to no Impact Blocking

Gritty Possession - Cannot acquire Outside Shield due to no RB Finesse

Pure Possession, Physical Route Runner, and Vertical Threat can acquire all their abilities

OL: Raw Strength - Can technically* progress all abilities but attribute upgrade cost is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than any other OL archetype

Agile, Pass Protector, and Well Rounded can acquire all their abilities at each position on the O-Line

Edge: “Physical Freak” has seemingly been replaced by Pure Power

“Pure Power” - Cannot acquire Pocket Disruptor due to no Finesse Moves

Edge Setter - Cannot acquire Workhorse due to no Toughness

Power Rusher - Cannot acquire Workhorse due to no Toughness

Speed Rusher can acquire all their abilities

DT: Pure Power - Cannot acquire Pocket Disruptor due to no Finesse Moves

Power Rusher- Cannot acquire Workhorse due to no Toughness

Gap Specialists and Speed Rushers can acquire all their abilities

LB: Signal Caller - Cannot acquire Workhorse due to no Toughness

Thumpers and Lurkers can acquire all their abilities

CB: None, all archetypes have the means to upgrade their abilities

S: Box Specialist - Cannot acquire Workhorse due to no Toughness

Coverage Specialist and Hybrid can acquire all their abilities

K/P: None, all archetypes have the means to upgrade their abilities

  • The other issue with pure power and power rusher DL is that they have no way to improve finesse move whatsoever. It’s not linked to an ability, but it’s a big problem in creating balanced players. It also causes those positions to max out power move way too quickly, as the power move attribute is linked to change of direction in the progression category, so a guy with 90 power move and 60 change of direction shows in the progression as like a 75 for pass rushing.

  • This is a major issue that needs to be fixed ASAP. In dynasty modes, players are just not progressing properly because of this. The other major issue is the rating caps on the highly rated NIL freshman. So many of them have the same caps making them unable to develop. None of the 5 star OT’s have the ability to improve at run blocking. Bryce Underwood and Keelon Russell max out at like an 87. It’s a major issue across the board with 4 and 5 star freshman

I'd also like to add to this some other ratings progression and physical abilities issues that I've noticed.

    • Elusive Route Runner Wide Receivers cannot improve spectacular catch or catch in traffic. I assume this is an oversight as other wide receiver archetypes besides Physical Route Runners (as listed above) can improve spectacular catch and catch in traffic in their respective "hands" attribute groups.
    • The physical ability "Workhorse" for Pure Power Defensive Tackles is tied to tackle instead of toughness. Other positions/archetypes with workhorse have the skill tied toughness.
    • Raw Strength O-linemen have pass block power listed twice in their pass blocking attribute group instead of pass block power and pass block finesse.
