EA Why?

Why did you change the "auto reorder" logic in the most recent update? Why is it so hard to keep this feature consistent and logical?

Why does the "auto reorder" logic only consider MLBs for SUBLB now? Why are better rated players being left off the depth chart just because of their position?

Why is a player designated as a DE available to be added to DT depth chart but not the RDT position?

There seem to be these arbitrary rules that only half make sense.

Why does the depth chart rate a RG lower when being evaluated for the LG position?

I see an argument for not including a current starter as a backup for another position in the same group, but it makes no sense for the "auto reorder" logic to place a backup 72 rated MLB ahead of a backup 78 rated OLB. To only consider players designated as MLBs for the MLB depth chart is not how the logic worked earlier this year, so why change it now?

I was hoping you would improve this logic in the coming years, but this update suggests things are getting worse.

It is a small issue, but I have to assume it has a large impact on team rankings and CPU recruiting strategies in dynasty mode.

I really did have a blast with the game this year, but issues like this do spoil the long-term playability.

I was just about to start a new dynasty with the new rosters, but this honestly ruined it for me. I am sure roster reordering logic is probably not a sexy feature to work on, but the little things aren't always so little.

  • The last update was better but still frustrating. Why is it a player (let's say a TE) being slotted as the starting FB prevents them from being included in the depth chart for the TE position?

There is obviously some logic that prevents starters from being included in the depth chart for other positions. However, in its current form it is resulting in decisions that make no football sense. A backup TE being slotted as the starting FB should not prevent them from being the second-string TE. The depth chart logic should be able recognize the conflict and move to the next in line based on a hierarchy of position importance.

This was clearly changed recently because the depth chart logic did not behave this way all year long.

The goal should be to get the best rated players included in the depth chart for positions that make sense. OLBs should be able to be included in the MLB depth chart. DE's should be able to be included in the OLB depth chart but it doesn't seem like pass coverage is properly weighted in the re-order logic. The result is DE's end up in the depth chart rated over back up LBs who can actually play the pass and the run.

This obviously can be corrected for the USER controlled depth charts, but the re-order logic has to be impacting the CPU teams during dynasty and messing up recruiting and sim outcomes.

I was hoping for some improvements but now I just want the logic the game shipped with back.
