New idea for Dynasty Mode for CFB 28
I have an idea that I think could make recruiting more immersive.
Add a new coaching position called a Scouting Coordinator. This coach would have a separate pool of weekly scouting hours that is independent of recruiting hours and refills every week.
Personally, I don’t enjoy spending a lot of time spending recruiting hours scouting every prospect after week 0, so this would let players invest in scouting without taking away from recruiting actions.
The number of scouting hours could scale based on your school’s prestige (or NIL level). For example:
- A Prestige: 50 scouting hours per week (enough to scout another couple player)
- B Prestige: 40 hours
- C Prestige: 20 hours
- D Prestige: 10 hours
- F Prestige: 0 hours
This would create another meaningful team-building decision. Bigger programs would have better scouting resources, while smaller schools would still need to be more selective with the information they gather. It would also make recruiting feel more realistic, since real college football programs have dedicated staff focused on evaluating talent.
