Currently I only have this issue with CFB 27. I have changed the HDMI, re downlaond the game and everything. When I loaded up CFB 27 my Xbox Series S will either green screen either during load up or after I complete a game. This issue is only happens when I play CFB 27

Hey everyone,
We appreciate the heads up about this.
We're hoping you can share more details with us to help us look into what might be happening here. When you have the chance, please reply to this thread with as much of the following info as possible:
- Which platform are you playing on? (Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC)
- What is your Xbox Gamertag, PSN ID, EA Account ID, Steam ID, or Epic ID?
- Which version and model of console are you using, i.e. PS5 Digital, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X or S, etc.?
- Is your console set up vertically or horizontally?
- Is your console in an open space or an enclosed space?
- Do you get any notifications regarding overheating or performance warnings?
- Does this only happen when you're playing Dynasty, or do you see it in other game modes?
- Does it happen at the menu, or does it happen in the middle of a game?
- What was the last thing you remember doing in-game before this started happening?
- Can you share any videos of the issue as it happens?
- If you're on PC, attaching a DxDiag to your reply would be helpful. You can find more info on how to gather the DxDiag file at the link below.
Any details you can share will be helpful. Thank you! - OSB_Magma1 month agoNew Novice
I’ll play any game mode, online, single player, but eventually it crashing to my Xbox Home Screen no matter what. I have yet to play a full game out due to crashing. I have hard reset my Xbox, cleaned out the fan and generator inside. The only game it does this to is college football in 26 and 27.

Hey OSB_Magma,
I've merged your post with the main thread for this topic. If you could provide the information requested in the pinned post above, that'd be great. Thanks!

I am playing on Xbox series x and it is standing up in an open space. It crashes no matter what game mode I’m in as long as I’m in a game. I honestly don’t remember what happened last time before it started doing this because it’s crashed 20+ times!!! This was the same issue as last year. I don’t what you did to fix it last year but when you fix it put it in the patch notes and don’t hide it so that we know what the issue is.

Xbox Series X, it’s vertical but I have tried horizontal as well. It’s in an open space with enough space for the vents to flow. It happens in online modes mid game and sometimes RTG, I can’t play a full game out without it crashing to the Xbox Home Screen. I’m always playing someone head to head in UT or Play now and either on defense or offense it just crashes. I just cleaned out my Xbox to make sure it wasn’t overheating but it’s only this game that it happens with.

Literally exactly what’s been happening to mine, it did it last year at the start of 26

Platform: Xbox series X
set up: vertically
open space
i have not tried out RTG and I do not play ultimate team, but this issue does not occur in any actual gameplay modes. It only happens when attempting to sim to the post season and triggering the heisman animation. Others have said it happens in RTG as well, but I cannot verify this personally as I have only played dynasty up until this point
it happens on the main page of dynasty mode, specifically when trying to advance week into the post season
for me personally, I have been able to get the animation to load properly, but the console has to be shut off for several minutes prior and power cycled every single time I attempt to advance; in addition to having a box-fan pointed directly at the system. It also has to be done immediately upon starting up the console, because if the console has been running for even 10 minutes before attempting the advance, it overheats.
so essentially, for me the process looks like this:
- progress in dynasty mode until the console shuts off when attempting to sim to the post season
- the console shuts off
- leave the console off and unplug it, leaving it unplugged for 30 minutes or more
- Turn on box-fan
- plug console back in and turn back on
- immediately open game as soon as able
- hit “continue dynasty”
and then after that there’s about a 50% chance of it working and loading into the heisman animation.
once that animation is loaded, I can play and advance to my heart’s content without issue until I reach the same point in the next season.
additional information that may or may not be helpful:
I have tried with the game installed on both internal storage and on an official Xbox storage expansion card. Does not seem to make a difference either way
I have tried playing with the aforementioned box fan running for an entire season, but it still overheats (so the fan trick only works when booting the game immediately after the cooldown and restart)
I cleaned every speck of dust out of the inside of my console and off of the table it sits on. This has not seemed to make a difference
this has literally never happened to me with any other game, even with more graphically intense games like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil 9, or Dragon Age the Veilguard. Meaning it shouldn’t be an issue with my system.
edit to add:
I should also note that I never had this problem with CFB 25 or 26, or any previous madden installment. This appears to be a CFB 27-specific issue for me.
