PC Launch Crash – Instant Crash Before Main Menu (Steam)

PC Launch Crash - Instant Crash Before Main Menu (Steam)

System Information

Platform: Steam

OS: Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.8973)

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XT

AMD Driver: 26.6.4

RAM: 32GB DDR5

Issue

The game launches through Steam and EA App normally.

The splash screens appear, the game enters fullscreen, and the intro video begins playing.

Just before reaching the main menu, the game closes to desktop without an error message.

The game generates its own crash dumps under:

Documents\EA SPORTS College Football 27\CrashDumps

WinDbg Analysis

The crash consistently occurs inside:

CollegeFB27!GetDenuvoTimeTicketRequest

Crash Information:

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID:

INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_CollegeFB27.exe!Unknown

MODULE_NAME:

CollegeFB27

IMAGE_NAME:

CollegeFB27.exe

Exception:

0xC0000005 (Access Violation)

The crash signature is identical across multiple crash dumps.

Loaded Modules

CollegeFB27.exe

Activation64.dll

IGO64.dll

gameoverlayrenderer64.dll

steam_api64.dll

Engine_Render_Core2_PlatformPcDx12.dll

D3D12.dll

amdxc64.dll

No Discord, RTSS, Razer, Corsair, NZXT, Wave Link, Elgato, or other third-party overlay DLLs were loaded.

Troubleshooting Completed

- Verified game files

- Cleared EA App cache

- Reinstalled EA App

- Repaired EA Javelin AntiCheat

- Ran SFC /SCANNOW

- Fully updated Windows

- Synced system clock

- Disabled Steam Overlay

- Disabled EA Overlay

- Disabled Xbox Game Bar

- Disabled AMD Overlay

- Performed a complete Clean Boot

- Disabled RGB software

- Disabled monitoring software

- Disabled Wallpaper Engine

- Disabled Elgato software

- Disabled Wave Link

The crash still occurs in a clean boot.

Additional Information

EA Sports FC 26 runs perfectly on this same PC using the same Steam account, EA account, Windows installation, drivers, and hardware.

This issue appears isolated to College Football 27.

Request

Could someone from the PC engineering team review this crash?

Specifically:

- Is GetDenuvoTimeTicketRequest a known startup crash?

- Is there a known Steam entitlement or activation issue?

- Is the access violation inside the activation path a known bug?

I have multiple crash dumps, WinDbg analysis, and a launch video available if needed.

I also reinstall the C++ files that are needed.. Please I need help, otherwise I wasted $70 on a game I can't even play.
