C&C Generals won't play on windows 8.1

OK, I spoke with customer service. for Windows 8 in the orgin app go to my games, right click on game, go to properties and in command bar type -w then check box to disable origin

this will fix game and you will be able to run it. Hope this helps y'all

This really keeps baffling me, since it's actually in the big sticky "How to run older Command & Conquer titles on Windows 8.1" thread at the top of the forum.
