Command & Conquer 4's gives "uknown error" message when attempting login

I'm having the exact same issue, and having followed all of the recommendations here and from Steam's site I am still no closer to resolution. EA Games, please let us know HOW TO FIX THIS ISSUE!!! I'm on the verge of uninstalling every EA Game and sharing this with all of my gamer friends (quite a few of us out there too).

Please assist ASAP.
