It only plays in 800X600

I tried clearing cache, Repairing game, uninstalling and reinstalling, all updates and drivers are good. When I go to set a different resolution the game freezes. cannot hit any buttons not accept, cancel, nothing. How do I play this game!!
i folded and purchased it on steam and i have ZERO issues with resolution now. no crashing or anything. Stubborn wins again!
The game is 20 years old and won't run out-of-the-box natively on modern hardware & modern operating systems. The community has created fixes, but it's your choice to be stubborn about this... You might be better off asking for a refund, as you'll surely run into more issues.
not installing non EA apps. besides, it worked with my old pc just fine. it just wont recognize the graphics card on this PC so it doesn't let me set it without freezing
Install GenTool, then set the resolution to whatever you like.
