Error message - Verify ownership

Hi,

I purchased command & conquer 3 yesterday (16/10/12) through origin and downloaded / installed it but am getting the following error when I try to launch the game - "In order to launch this game, please login to the EA link to verify your ownership, then try again."

I wasn't sure of my password so I reset it, then verified my email address, but it still isn't working.

I've been looking on quite a few forums for a solution and have found nothing to solve this. I need to speak to an advisor but every time I try to do this the 'call me' and 'live chat' options are not available. I sent an email yesterday detailing the problem (case no. 05964430) with the hope that someone would respond with an answer within 24 hrs as mentioned on the website, however I have still not received a reply . I realise this may not be top of your priorities but I feel I someone should at least have the decency to reply to my e-mail.

What makes this worse is that I bought the game when it was released in 2007 but have misplaced the booklet with the cd key. I've tried to use the cd key given to me with the download but this isn't working either. So at the minute I cannot play a game that i've paid for twice!

I would be grateful if someone from EA could respond either to this thread or to my initial e-mail asap

    I have found others with a similar issue, and someone provided a solution that seemed to work for all those who tried it. Let's give it a spin, shall we?


    **************************************************************************

    We would like to suggest you to please make a screen name by following steps and link the screen name to your EA account . The steps are :

    1- Create an account in www.pogo.com
    2- Login into www.profile.ea.com using the EA email id and password.
    3- Scroll down the page, click on " Add Persona".
    4- Select option " existing EA classic screen name". It will open a login window.
    5- Login using pogo screen name and password.
    6- Click on " Add Persona".
    7- Now pogo screen name should appear under " Select a default persona" heading.
    8- Double click on the pogo screen name.

    After the screen name attach to your account . Please uninstall the game and re-install.
    **************************************************************************



    After doing this you will be asked to provide the account info at the first start-up of the game. After the first start-up the game starts automatically with no nagging about providing any account information.

    Let us know if this solves your problem. 🙂

    Hello, I really hope you read this soon as I am getting very frustrated. I am having the exat same issue sadly and unfortunetly when trying to add a persona, it continually tells me there is a server error and to try again later. it has been 4 hours and It keeps saying the same thing, even after restarting my computer to be 100% sure it was nothing on my end.

    At this point all I am asking for is some help. and if this cant be resolved then a refund. A simple refund.

    Please give me a hand with this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there,

    i have the same problem and tried your solution but it didn't work. I'm still getting this error message. Nearly same problem with Kane's Wrath. I need to enter the key again but nothing happens then.

    by the way...now i have 3 copies of C&C3 and 3 of Kane's Wrath...1 uncensored german version on DVD, 1 english version with this error and a censored german version with C&C Ultimate Edition which has another error. 3 Copies of C&C 3 and none is working as intended^^

    I'd suggest you get in touch with our Game advisors then, there's not much more I can suggest to help.

    1 Click on the following link: https://help.ea.com/contact-us
    2 Make sure you are logged in (top right corner)
    3 Click on the blue button "Contact a Game Advisor"
    4 Enter the name of your game or product (or "Origin" for account-related issues) and click "Find Solutions"
    5 Select the type of issue and the platform you play on, and click on "Find Solutions".
    6 Click on the blue button "I still need help" if the FAQ articles do not apply to your situation.
    7 Select a contact option.

    Note that you may get different contact options depending on your country.

    No, it didn't help. I did this veeery often. Sometimes with reply, sometimes without reply and sometimes with reply in veeery bad german. Problem is still not fixed and the german support still is...well...useless but thats not your fault 😉 (i hope we get a german answer hq really fast, i hate typing english...could put things in words better when writing in german)

    at last i tried to do a chat with american support staff but they can't help me with german games....but at least he (or she...or it) tried 😕mileysad:.

    Now i'm playing with the censored german version of c&c3...thats not funny 😕mileysad:

    Hey i had the same problem but i fixed it, this is how you do it.

     

    Go to start

    Right-click on your computer and click on Properties.

    You will see your System window now. Click on Advanced System Settings.
    You will see the System Properties window. Click on the Advanced tab.
    Under Performance, click on Settings (the top button).
    You will see a pop-up appear called Performance Options.
    Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab.
    Click on Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
    Click on the Add button.
    Browse to where you installed the game and select the .exe file.
    Restart your computer and try playing your game again.

    Hello, I have the same problem. Windows 7 x64. " Add Persona" now missing in settings. DEP exclusion don't worked. 

    PS. I found message, about activation http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/90/7467005.page#31201974 it's worked.

    Well here what i did for my game to work : 

    go to https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do 

    enter the licence key that you get by looking at the info of TW in origin 

    enter account and password info and click sign in 

    it will ask to create or link a classic EA persona, i created a new one 

    start the game and enter your origin email and password when asked by TW 

    Enjoy the game

    Your service is a * joke.

    It's hard to imagine that an international well funded organisation like EA could release a title on their service and expect you to use a third party flash game host to fix the game they charged money for. 

    It would be like if Netflix started showing movies and expected you to go and download windows classic media player to watch them. 

    Oh and incidentally are there any opening in EA for a "community manager" at the moment as it seems that the bare minimum expected of them is to effectively tell paying customers to * off when their problems aren't solved. Surely this issue warranted you going to your support team and creating a fix.
