EA Staff (Retired)So question. Are you taking cards that I would have gotten from the crate and putting them in a vault? Not only are you charging more for things. It is incredibly hard to earn diamonds for the average player. Then I have like 10 units that need to be upgraded and no money to do so. I can't make enough money. I know the cap is going away but still. I tried and tried to reach Tiberium League, and got within 10 medals of it. Then you send me back to gold. I have spent more than a hundred dollars on this game. I shouldn't have to pay for a free to play game, but I did because damn it this game is fun. But now it is not so fun. It is work. We are down and you keep kicking us. You send a challenge match at me when I get within 10 medals of Tiberium League, then drop down to level 2 master. I used to like playing the tourneys. Never gotten over 65 to 70 percent. But hey let's punish everyone for people who can unnaturally micro their units around. I understand you have to make money. But do you have to be so forward about. This game is not free to play anymore. And it is not fun anymore. I just don't wanna go backwards because I have invested money in this game. But hey what do I know. I'm just a poor schmuck with the money to spend. That's where the jokes on you. I'm not paying another dime till some of this crap goes away.

No, you receive all the cards that you're supposed to when you open up crates. We are adding 'bonus' cards to the vault, with the number of cards depending on the crate that you opened. If you decide to open the vault, then you'll receive those 'bonus' cards; if you decide not to, they will continue to hang out in the vault.
For the reset, that is to allow players to earn rewards for re-climbing the ladder. For the March reset, we changed it so that players would start higher on the ladder, making the climb up to Tiberium a bit easier. Hopefully this was a good change and will help players reach their goals within the month. We are still listening to feedback though, so please let us know what you think - is the reset working or does it still feel too restrictive?

I appreciate the detailed feedback that you sent. However, these changes were already planned before we received your feedback. We will considering that feedback, plus the feedback that we're hearing after the changes, into consideration as we move forward. Also, the gold crates are designed to give Diamonds, so it's not a surprise that they didn't.

There are crates that you can get for free: daily Common crate, Rare bounty crate, and the Convoy crates. There are also Crates that are available for purchase: Epic, Colossal, Faction crates. And now, there is a Vault that you can purchase that will also get you cards - after you have filled it with 'bonus' cards from opening crates. These 'bonus' cards don't take away from what you receive in your free crates, and you don't need to buy the Vault - it's an extra for those who wish to open it. The cards also stay in the Vault, so if it's not opened this time, it's still possible to open it next time it becomes available.
I tried addressing some common questions and I'll continue to read through the thread. Whether I addressed you directly or not (not meaning to slight anyone!), I'm gather all your feedback, so please continue to talk and ask questions.
@EA_dance210 thank you for the answer. Still I am not happy with the current medal system, so I am giving it a pause, I will see what happens in a month or two. My bad for the crates... well another suggestion : each crates should reward credits and diamonds. Have a nice day.

The Vault doesn't limit progression. All the normal ways of getting cards is still available (crates, level rewards, cloning chambers), this is just another method that players can opt to use to help speed up their progression.
I've pass along that it says Rare crates should give 20 cards to the rest of the team. Thanks.
For those who suddenly have the Vault show 0 cards: This is a visual glitch. You cards are still in there. If you restart the app or play a match, the correct number of cards should display.
How can I get access to my earned cards without opening the vault? I’ve used it once. Now I want to not use the vault.

The cards that are added to the Vault are bonus cards - not opening the Vault doesn't take anything away from you. When you open up crates, you receive all the cards that you're supposed to. So, if you never open the Vault, you're not losing anything 🙂
