Re: Command and Conquer Mod/or Not

@faulkkev66

Do note, C&C1 really never could be modded much at all; all mods in there are hacks in the exe file.

But if you want to make your life a bit easier, the C&C95 v1.06 patch (the thing linked from cncnet for C&C95) does add two neat "cheats". During gameplay, try typing the codes "topoftheline" and "tactical".

The first will need a new building to be built or sold before it truly activates though, since it needs to update your construction options. And the second, well, scroll around a bit after you enter it and you'll see.

  • thanks it has been so long i may have been using trainers on Red Alert and forgot. I recall the alchemist trainers back in the day.  ill try the patch and like mess with red alert as well.

    thanks

  • Do i install the patch  C&C95 v1.06 patch onto the cncnet install?  I assume i point it to that directory and don't mess with the origin version?

    For example this is my install dir:

    C:\Games\CnCNet\RedAlert1_Online

  • @mrtnptrs I wondered the exe on cncnet version seemed to reflect it was right version.
    I could not get the little cheats to work when I typed nothing happened but that is ok.
    I ended up playing cncnet red alert. I found the file that is rules Ini now and had some fun with that. Makes skirmish fun when they build as fast as you.

    @faulkkev66 So, if I get it your problems are solved with the CNCNet version?

    I know English is probably not your native language, but could you try next time to make more correct sentences as your last message was quite hard to read haha.
  • My native language is Missouri 😀. I was responding from my cell phone, which is not ideal and has a habit of changing words I type, which I miss proof reading. I also  was responding to previous comments inside my reply to you. This why it likely didn’t make sense. The cheats comment was from a previous reply on this topic.  Over all I’m good red alert is feeding the need right now and allows for updating the rules.ini which gives me the money and other options I was seeking.

    It is, yes, though their version is slightly adapted to integrate it with CnCNet's launcher, and has a few multiplayer-specific fixes like faster Nod delivery planes.
