The majority of my units are lvl 7 & 8 the rest of them are low, like 3 - 5. I continue to get opponents with many level 10's that I can do nothing about.
By the time I can afford to build 2 units to try to take on their one, they already have far superior units on the board.
- What League is that? Platinum or Diamond?

You have a win rate of 73% according to your screenshot. What the hell are you complaining about?
I think you are actually too good for the league you are in. You progressed faster than most so the only people in the league that you are in are those with units higher than yours.
You sometimes see people with units close to what you have but they are rare and in the same boat as you.
Seems like they should give me more credits to increase my units levels for being so much better.
I am level 21 I believe in platinum league.
- @ChrisesCreation Yep. That’s why. Most people there have level 10 and 11 units.
@Marine_CorporaIThe point is that it shouldn't matter what league you're in. Rather this is a commentary on the shoddy design of this whole game regarding "progression" which is just a big grind wherein you're constantly being reminded that you can pay to progress faster.
It entirely causes a bad experience for those who have a desire to play a game where the only reason you lose is a matter of overall skill.
I can play Dota 2 for thousands of hours and never do I feel intruded upon to spend money to "be on par" with others. Valve does have other means to get my money with limited time only cosmetic effects and stuff, but it never impacts how well I can win.
So in this game your mmr will easily rise above the average of your current content unlock amount. And then the game makes you play with the bad to average players, and sometimes good players of a higher content unlocked value.
League of legends kind of makes players do this too except that it can be forgive. Because it's only normal and not ranked, also league tries to set actual barriers at certain "content unlock" amounts.I guess this is just another reminder to myself why I never liked EA. On my origins account, the only game i purchased with real cash was sim city, the one from like 2011 or 12. That was back when ea kept getting voted worst company in America. Well i have like 20 other games in my original library, all of which were given as handouts from ea in some capacity, but I never really played any of them. Most all the modern games in that handout allotment were also littered with microtransactions like some need for speed game that literally had cars sitting around the city that would tell you "pay to drive this car". Idk, ea just knows the target audience they can make money from, but I will never have respect for their games, never would I call them "art" ever either. That's reserved for few games anyway.
I only just installed this game today.
Uninstalling it today as well.
It was fun, but obvious pay grind, not as a big of a skill grind.
It's my opinion that it's just bad progression design, which is related to the monetization scheme of an EA mobile game.
(Is skill the riding force, or is it grind/money?)
Generally in competitive games with a ranked play system in which the "account" progresses in actual playing capability, you want the act of progressing to feel like an extended tutorial to ease you into the game and get used to it without getting stomped all the time in matches.
It should also be designed so that players who are skilled can more quickly bypass this "extended tutorial" and not feel stuck in it.
This game has things like "races" and stuff but you can easily see the problem with their design and how getting in those top spots may not always be so feasible as it would imply if you are skilled(the case when you're well under leveled for the bracket you're adjusted for and have to wait for the content grind)
I agree, but even with the races you must spend actual money to have enough diamonds to acquire the credits to feasibly level the units.
I have placed 1st in a few of the races but did not have the 600 or more diamonds required to buy the credits earned. There are still quite a few too many issues with the game, I believe I will be quitting it again, figured by now they should have worked out a majority of these still occurring problems.
I just leave the match when I see that nonsense. But it really is stupid to have to play 16 Challenge Matches in a row, some against the same player multiple times. Pit all those level 10s against one another, instead of letting them seal club.

This is true. To be fair, the managament has apparently shifted resources away from this game, so that not enough developers are there to fix the many issues that exist.
I feel that if they fixed one thing, the game would become enormously better. That one thing is the quality of the matchmaking. In a game that has nothing else to offer but 1v1 PvP, the quality of the matchmaking should be really good. Instead, it is complete crap because they never developed a proper metric to rate the players.
So what is it you guys want? When you get promoted to Diamond league for example because you beat all the players at your level, you want to keep facing the same players from Platinum league that have your levels and not face any from Diamond league?
I thought I heard it all. When I get promoted to the Major leagues, I still want to face players from the Minor leagues. That is what you guys are saying.
I am not saying no challenge matches. But not a dozen in a row. If everyone I face has units 2 levels higher than me, why can’t they bash each other?

There are a dozen in a row because there aren’t many people in your league with units or experience levels as low as yours as low as yours.
Here’s an example. I made it to Masters league one time with level 6 and 7 units. (I started a new account and just played all night for 2 nights in a row) There are hardly any players there with units that low. So every single game is a challenge match. Every single one. All of them. Why? Nobody is in Masters league with level 6 units. I was a Level 17 in experience going up against level 60 experience players.
If I was ever to find another player in that league with an experience level or unit levels as low as mine, it wouldn’t be a challenge match.
Now let’s say that you leveled up all your units to level 10 and made it up to Diamond league. You are stuck there for a while.
I make it up to Diamond league with level 7 units. Should I face you as a Challenge match or should I continue facing people from the lower Platinum league that have units levels the same as mine?
So let’s say that they match me up with people from a lower league. I beat them and make it out of Diamond league without ever facing anyone from Diamond league. Is that fair while you are still stuck in Diamond league?
- @Marine_CorporaI the problem is across the board match making is jacked up and the devs are too lazy to fix it. Hell they create the bugs in the game in the first place let alone the meta. also i do think that they create bots in the game to "keep it alive"

The reason I always defend the matchmaking is because I see how things work. I’m up to about 10 times climbing the ladder. I start over and go to Masters. When I get there, I start over again.
Each and every time the matchmaking is without challenge matches until I get to Gold 2. After that, challenge matches happen often since my units are so low compared to everyone else’s. Everyone there has their units at level 9’s while mine are at level 5’s and 6’s and I’m also facing people with higher experience and units that I cannot unlock yet.
There is a pool of players in every league. If most of them have level 11’ units and only you and 20 other people are a level 9 in the same league, you are more than likely going to face someone with a level 11 as a challenge match because not all the 20 players with level 9 units are online.Your medal count plays a big role as well. If you are a good player with X amount of medals, you’ll get matched with players with the same amount of medals who just happen to have higher unit levels in the same league. They aren’t going to match you up with players from a lower league all the time.
I’ve only been matched with players from lower leagues late at night when there aren’t that many players to pick from. I have been the challenge match for those players. For me, it wasn’t a challenge match.
And the 9 year olds in Little League want to play against the 16 year olds for 80% of their games....

Why would you defend something that is of a very poor quality?
In C&C Rivals, it can very easily happen that you get an easy opponent, then a really hard opponent, then again a rather easy opponent when you play. There is just no consistent quality to it. But there should be.
- @Marine_CorporaI That should not really matter, match making should at least award the higher enemy unit no loss on those. Fair is fair, this matchmaking logic is not.
- @Simison-PC I agree with you and I’d like to share something.
I actually won a couple of the races as the top player and strangely also reached the master league. But then I just am not able to win. Totally wiped out by really high level players. The silver lining is that once you reach the master league you cannot drop out. Why does his league and level matter to you? His point is highly valid.
What really pisses me and everyone that I know off is the douchebags who lose countless matches on purpose so they can dive in the rankings so they get to match up with far lower level enemies and win free Colossal chests.
This is an exploit and should not be tolerated. I'd love to see a ban implemented for these *.
I was the same. Far under leveled and then it becomes impossible to win because other players are rolling out level 10 to 12 units to my level 8.
Regardless of any reasoning that you all are going to give me fir this, it is still trash. It's not okay to be punished for your ability.
They need to put players together based on account level until you are level 60.
Yes. That is what we're saying because its total garbage to play impossible matches because you won.
If I am the best player at my level then I deserve to be at the top of that tier and not get beat to death by ranking up too fast.
So again, hell yes. Its unfair. It's a beatdown. It is infuriating. It is unacceptable.
We know. We dont need your explanation. We're saying it is no good.
