Red Alert 2 / Yuri black screen on startup (Wont run in windowed mode) (Win10)

hey i just got the free edition of Red alert 2 and Yuri, i keep getting a black screen on startup with sound.

i'm running windows 10 64bit on my basically new gaming laptop (Lenovo Y40) (Intel core i7 4710hq (2.50ghz) (Nvidia Geforce GTX 4g)

ive tried to run in windowed mode and it wont seem to run in windowed mode even with the launcher mod (Which i'm not sure if its working or not) and ran everything in compatibility mode and in administrator and what not and am not really sure what to do next.

I just want to play my old favorite Game ☹️
