Rockworm balance

With all of the balance changes, has anything been mentioned about the Rockworm?   These things are almost unstoppable.

As soon as one enters the field, you've pretty much lost.   Earlier today one Rockworm was able to take out my entire army, including Sandstorms and Rhinos.

It was even able to go after my harvester's!

If there's a counter to these, please let me know!

Yeah, also as I've said elsewhere, keep the pressure on your opponent throughout the game, rockworms are only really good on the offense and incredibly expensive, I've seen too many lower medal players who sit back holding platforms while their opponent sits there making cheap units to throw at them while harvesting tiberium off of two unbothered harvesters until they can spam up a bunch of high tier units to sieze control at the last second. Aside from running and knowing how to use counters to threats, the biggest reason rockworms don't see much success in high level play is that things are constantly in motion, you're always pressing somewhere trying to get an edge on your opponent, micro of units becomes very important, second harvesters are a fairly risky proposition in many games and some of us never build more than one. The idea of spending 130+ (+ because you might not have a temple of nod) resources on a rockworm just becomes so much less viable when that is likely the only unit you'll be able to build for awhile and you're already dealing with a large variety of stuff attacking you on all fronts that a rockworm isn't likely to solve. The rockworm is an offensive unit, not a defensive one, it really isn't good if you're under pressure or behind.

Changing the unlock of the rockworm to somewhere around level 10 will go a long way to both people having counters to it and people getting enough experience with the game to keep up that sort of pressure to at least some extent that really makes making a rockworm a difficult and risky choice.

@ShadowAttacker4 I've not been able to pull the Cyborgs from a box or a store.   And I'll be honest, losing to these things have become so frustrating I haven't been checking the store that frequently.  The other issue I'm having against the Rockworm is not the AOE damage, but the actual attacks from it.   This thing is just one shotting Predators and Scorpions, along with the laser squads.  As for Flame Troopers, I'm not a high enough level to build them by default.   My only source of them comes from Seth's ability.

Some of these problems are likely coming from the fact that I am lower level and I'm clearly playing against higher level players, but this just makes the problem worse since I can't gain the experience needed to match their level.

Seriously  rockworms arent a problem imo. They are VERY slow and can be countered by Orcas or Titans should also counter them. The real problem is NOD overall. Attackbikes have a WAY higher dps than the pitbull and cost only 30 compared to the pitbulls 40. Yeah Pitbulls can fire while moving, but thats a minor bonus, since the attackbikes deal way more damage.

  • if you manage to destroy 1 bike it is already not a good unit. 🙂
  • rocket troops cheap and easy you only need about 2 squads to take one down

  • Basically, if you play as a GDI, all you need is anti-vehicle plane, and a fast one, for example an orca, if the rockworm keeps moving, since no infantry could follow and the only anti-air ground vehicle is the attack bikes. If one rockworm stays in a place, you could send a titan to the rockworm, but do not send any other thing except than titan because it would destroy it. If you’re playing as Nod, just spam cyborgs since rockworm is slowed by cyborg and the rockworm's attack isn't effective against cyborgs.

  • I'm a Tiberium League player, and the rockworm is in no way overpowered, as it can be taken out by cyborgs, zone troopers, and anything air. A Nod drone takes it out in a matter of seconds.

Coupled with the inability to hold a pad or break through a unit that occupies a spot on the map, it's one of the weirdest and hard to use units in the whole game, right there with the NOD scarabs (One of the worst units in the whole game).

I for one would like to see it get at least the break through ability (If the unit will get killed by the rockworm, allow it to surface).

That would make it at least usable.
