[SOLVED] Ultimate Collection: Zero Hour crashing to desktop with Serious Error

I had the same problem but your solution didn't work for me, instead i found a video on youtube that helped me solve it.

I knew i had deleted the options.ini file but i thought a new one would be created with a new install, apparently not! and that caused a crash when i tried to run my game.

Ah, no... in fact, a missing settings file is one of the most common issues encountered with C&C Generals. Apparently the install process very often fails to create it.
