Unable to launch game Game will not run in a virtual environment

I have a microsoft surface book 2 I am trying to launch Dead Space 3 on but am receiving an error "This game will not run in a virtual environment". Most surface devices you are not able to disable virtualization extensions.

I am confused though because I also have a desktop running with vt-d enabled and it launches the game just fine. I've gone through a gauntlet of items turning windows features on and off trying to figure out how to get past this error but to no avail. Am I missing something about Microsoft surface devices that causes them to get flagged in error? I just don't understand why this isn't working.
