3 Problems that hinder or ruin my experience with Inquisition

1) The load times. Golly gee willikers, Batman, I know this game has a lot to load given it's frostbite 3 but I will literally be loading for 10-15 minutes per "area" that I travel to, not counting the cutscenes that take a couple minutes to load when they should be instant. I can literally make lunch and defecate in mutiple toilets by the time I can get one area to load. Changing graphical settings doesnt seem to help this at all. Maybe problem with HDD?

2) Almost no companion banter whatsoever. I might get one rant between two companions per area, If I'm lucky. Honestly, the banter that does come through is pretty satisfiying. But again, it almost never freaking happens.

3) When walking up to NPCs or Companions and wanting to talk with them, it takes several seconds or even minutes for it to load when it should be instant. Ex: I walk up to Varric to start up his dialogue and I have to wait a pretty fair amount of time for him or my character to start talking and wait a little bit for me to be able to select dialogue

Granted, my computer is a complete potato compared to what I should actually be using, But I can run and Load BF4 fairly well, so I'd thought i'd be comparable with the load times. I've literally had to shelve this game until I can either find out if something's wrong with my hardware, or buy new hardware altogether. I play on Default "Medium" Graphics at 1080x720 fullscreen.

Edit: Also, the game runs pretty smooth, even when I bump up the graphics settings quite a bit. But again, the gosh darn loading times kill my experience the most.

Specs:
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor            (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 660 Ti 3GB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200rpm 3.5' SAT
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 AMD 990FX AM3+

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    1)  There is an issue with the game on your PC with this one.  My load time on proabably a weaker computer all in all, is about 30sec to at most 1 min for almost all loads, and I am probably overestimating it some since I hate looking at loading screens.

    2)  Patch 3 was supposed to fix the banter issue, but reports are it has made it worse...stay tuned.

    3)  Another issue, maybe even related to #1.

I have heard issues of memory leaks, and that DAI loves to access virtual memory instead of using RAM....don't know how true this is, but you may want to investigate how your Virtual memory is set up, as well as watch memory use.  Also if a background process may be interfering with the game too, so you may want to run Process viewer(from microsoft) and see if and what is going on with memory, processes, and cpu while playing game.  Other than that, I would say upgrading drivers, maybe bios, and checking  fragmentation of your HDDs.  Something is greatly slowing down your machine whether it is a conflict between the game and you PC or just your PC has an issue I don't know.

Honestly, I don't know what was wrong. Could have been a problem with my video card drivers or could have been something along the line of my Windows being corrupted, but it's fixed. I got fed up with not being able to play the game, backed up all my important content, and reformatted.

Haven't run into anymore issues. In fact, I can run this game at a much higher setting than I did before reformatting at Default "High" and even "Ultra" settings with 1920x1080, although on Ultra I get ~25-30fps which isn't horrible.

I timed the load time Haven to Hinterlands and it only took roughly a minute, and tested from the main menu to Hinterlands at ~1:30. Much, Much faster compared to what I'm used to. Still no banter, but I'll check out the mod that was posted here. Thanks, guys!

@mcsupersport Do you run the game off an SSD or a hard disk? I run the game on an SSD and I get 35 second load times when going from Skyhold to the Hinterlands. Do you think that's normal? My load times were a bit longer when I had a HDD.

Regarding the banter issue, there's a mod that fixes it, but it wasn't on purpose. BioWare attempted to fix the banter bug by firing up conversations more quickly, but this doesn't affect people who already had the bug. The mod I speak of is one that increases levelling speed and people have reported that this also fixes the banter bug. Now that it's known that the banter bug is tied to a levelling issue, BioWare may at last release an official fix. In the meantime, here's the mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/307/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fdragonageinquisition%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D307%26preview%3D&pUp=1

I run Hard disk, I have 2x 1tb hds.  I have only recently updated to patch 3 and 4, as in tonight, and it seems to have added an extra black screen before the taro cards and a bit of a pause in the middle of the load too, but still not too bad.   Just ran a stopwatch on my load times.

Level 3 character hitting continue on main screen into Haven.......45 seconds.

Level 24 character from the Plains to Skyhold.........1 min 15 sec.

Level 24 character from Skyhold to Hinterlands........1 min

Level 24 character from Hinterlands to Crestwood.......45 sec

Honestly with an SSD, it cuts the time in half...but I would have expected faster actually.

Just ran another test this time with Origin offline....

Level 3 character hitting continue on main screen into Haven......40 seconds

Level 24 character from the plains to Skyhold.......45 seconds

Level 24 character from Skyhold to Hinterlands......41 seconds

Level 24 character from Hinterlands to Crestwood.....40 seconds

So it seems just by going offline, I was able to trim time, sometimes even a fair amount, so some of the loading time has to be Origin updaing Keep or something like that.

That's interesting. I'll try this myself later today and report my findings.

Edit: I saved a few seconds. i'm not sure if it's related or not, but it might.
