A Multitude of Problems.. Lost Character, Missing DLC
Hi.
Awhile back I downloaded the free DA: O on Origin and played it for a bit before deciding I wanted the Ultimate Edition. So I bought that on Steam, as it was on sale at the time. I installed it, and kept playing on my old save that I started in the Origin copy, after downloading all the DLC and stuff. After awhile I got bored and busy with other things, and stopped playing.
I recently went back to the game and started playing on the Steam version. Made a new save, got things going, and then when I wanted to go back to my old Origin's character, I found that not only was the save missing, but all the DLC was uninstalled, Awakening is not in the available, owned, or installed content lists, and Steam keeps trying to force it's version of the game whenever I launch. Even when opening the game in Origin it opens sometimes in Steam, even if I log out from Steam.
So I decided; Whatever, I can replay the game, and got to work reinstalling all the DLC (someone hoping that perhaps my old character is "gone" because the DLC was somehow uninstalled). That was when I noticed Awakening was no longer on the list.
I also checked both the Origin/Bioware download folder, and the Steam one. Both seem to have different folders and files. The Bioware one has my new character save and the old one is completely gone, while the Steam one doesn't even appear to have a character file folder. I'm not sure if the game is using files from both folders, or not. It seems that it is.
So really, I have no idea what's going on. A few months ago I could play the game fine, with all the DLC and Awakening, and now my old character save is gone, the DLC is all uninstalled and I'm missing Awakening (and possibly other DLC I didn't notice missing).
I really don't want to have to uninstall the game, as it took hours to install the first time. Please help!
Update: I went through the DLC list. I'm also missing A Tale of Orzammar.
Update: Uninstalled Origin version and Steam version, then reinstalled the Steam one.
Update: Also went through the unathorized/missing DLC page, tried everything, no fix. The patch was useless because I have the Steam version, the updater is enabled, and the CD key is in. Steam gave me two keys though; am I supposed to have two entered in the config?
