Buying DAI twice to play New DLC

New DLC won't install on PS3. Can I get a steep discount PS4 DAI as I already own PS3 DAI?

I completely agree. Customers should never have to buy the same game twice just to play the DLC. I have been playing Dragon Age since Origins and closely follow and love the lore and story. I feel extremely disrespected by EA Games as a customer for having to by Dragon Age: Inquistion twice to continue to enjoy the game. It is an insult to all loyal customers, like you and me, to have to spend a lot of money (yes, &70 is a lot for me) to see how the story ends. If they do not upgrade/develop the Save Importer to not require purchase of the game again, I will no longer buy any more games or DLC from EA Games.

It's an issue born out of necessity. The developers explained that the last-gen consoles couldn't handle some of the content introduced in The Descent. By cutting off the last-gen consoles, they're removing restrictions that would keep the content from being as good as it possibly could be.

I think consoles could benefit from a model similar to PC gaming. On PC, once you buy the game, it's yours forever on any PC you own or ever will own. Unfortunately, consoles are more of a closed platform and there are several reasons why this isn't very feasible. I think a discount for the current gen version would be a nice compromise, but I'm not sure that will happen.

They could easily give away the PS4 version of the game for free as long as you provide a proof of purchase for the PS3 version. You could just enter the barcode, receipt transaction number, or the product number on the disk in the promo code, or some other interface they provide, so they could verify it. And after it has been entered once, they can easily keep track of it and prevent people from entering it twice, like when you register a software product license.

Bandwidth costs money and Microsoft/Sony wouldn't allow to do this for free. Gamers have shown they're willing to pay full price for HD rereleases, so it would be foolish for Microsoft and Sony to pay for bandwith when instead they could also ask for $70.
