Yes, you still need to obtain the Tome of the Rifts.
Highlight for how to find Tome: If you recruited Vivienne, it should be near her in Skyhold (above the main hall entrance). If you did not recruit her, it will be available at a store in Val Royeaux.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I’m running into this rift tome problem and I have tried everything. No merchant in Val Royeux has the writings on rift magic. I have not seen it drop once from any mob (I’m level 20 now and a bit of a completionist). I can see the book sitting on the table in Skyhold near Solas, but I can’t pick it up, look at it, or perform any action on it at all. It just...sits there, like any other bit of background detail. Any suggestions? Thank you.
same problem here, everyone says pick stuff up from Solus, but there is no prompt !! also not at trader !!!!!!!!!
