I got it to run offline, on Windows 7, which is what I wanted. Not entirely sure how. I basically try to start it online, it tries to update, then I disconnect the internet. It hesitates, then gives me the option to play offline while It tries to reconnect with the internet. Thanks again.
Could you share more info? What edition of the game is it (e.g. disc copy, EA app, Steam, GOG)? What happens when you try to launch it?
My daughter downloaded it from Origins (or EA by then?) about 12-14 years ago. This was her account, originally. I guess it would be an EA app then? If I'm online, it tries to update, but can't completely, since EA has discontinued online support for it. If I'm offline, it'll tell me it can't because I'm offline. Sometimes.
I got it to launch accidentally last night. I had clicked on the Dragon Age icon in my computer files and got "preparing game." That didn't work, but I clicked on the EA desktop icon later, and it gave me a page with all my unsupported EA games and boxes to click on for offline play. Then a box where I give permission (as an administrator, I suppose). Then it launched. I was happy, but I doubt that will be consistent.
It worked for some time after EA gave up on support. Supposedly, if I had been signed in before, I could pick an option for it to work offline. Maybe that was what happened, but it doesn't work consistently anymore. That's all I've got.

The game is no longer receiving studio support aka patches, but any updates or DLCs that are not yet installed on your computer should still be installed.
It was Origin back then, but Origin got discontinued and replaced by EA app.
Do you have EA app installed?
No EA App. Current, at least. I don't know if there are earlier versions. I'm running Windows 7 on my desktop. I checked, and the EA app is for 10 and up. Thank you.
